July Favourites

I am just about to head into what will be the busiest month of the year. At the end of August is the Queensland Poetry Festival, of which I am director, which means that most every spare minute of the month leading up will be thinking, planning, emailing, and doing all manner of last minute things. When I wake up in the middle of the night, my first though is usually shit, I need to email Freddy first thing tomorrow! Of course I do love the festival, so am excited as well as anxious. Also a little bittersweet, as it is the final one that I will direct after four years. When I do find spare minutes, I am often to be found planning holidays. We’re heading down to Melbourne in September visiting family and friends, which will be lovely but busy. So we’re planning another getaway in November. Undecided as to where – maybe Japan. Or Vietnam again. Or Thailand, perhaps. Any suggestions? In the meantime, here is some of what I’ve been reading/listening to/eating/wanting in July.

Enjoy!

May Favourites + Blog Hop

Today’s post is slightly different to usual. May has been busy month in our household and this week past has been fucking crazy so my plans to cook and photograph yesterday were blown out of the water by work deadlines and a stuffy nose. Today, rather than a recipe, below is a collection of favourites – some of the recipes I’ve been salivating over, and some of the things I’ve been reading, this past month. Also below is a reflection on my own writing habits as part of a chain ‘blog hop’ that the lovely Zenobia Frost invited me to take part in.

Enjoy!

April Favourites

April is always a great month – the Brisbane heat has cooled down to a perfect temperate Autumn, work starts heating up for me but along with the busy comes the fun part of putting together the program for this year’s festival, and we always head away camping and bush walking for a week of blissful absence from the world. And May looks to be starting off pretty well too – I get to meet my brand new niece for the first time!

For your perusal, below are some of the recipes and readings that sparked my interest this past month.

Enjoy!
